The dwarf jade compact (Portulacaria afra or Crassula ovata compacta) is a slow-growing, succulent shrub featuring small, fleshy green leaves and a thick trunk.
Care Provide bright, direct sunlight for 4 to 6 hours daily, placing it near a south- or west-facing window. Let the soil dry out completely between waterings. Water deeply until it runs through the drainage holes, and reduce watering in the winter. Use a fast-draining mix, such as a blend of succulent soil, perlite, and orchid bark.
